Another Day In The City

You guy's all should know I love prints and I wanted to make use of all my clothes before I actually wear new clothes cause I don't actually have my whole closet her in New York. What I wore was my little black Homburg Hat as you can see from many other post I love. I thought it was a good hat to wear during fall/winter season , my wide brim hat is so big and from the winds sometimes it fly's off. I also wore this amazing custom made leather piece necklace which I love, also this like Samoan navy blue and white square and circle printed short sleeve t-shirt I picked up at a thrift store, pieced with these african printed pants, it came as set but I just wanted the pants also got them from the same thrift store as.I know you guys may be looking at my sandals (I got at Aldo) and like why but sometimes New York it wants to be cold and then hot but as you can see from the images below it got cold so I changed into my biker jacket and threw on my pony hair Dr. Martens.

Can You Feel It

Definitely Feeling It For The September Issue of Instyle Magazine. Yes I know I'm super late and I haven't been on my A game with all these September issues stop judging me (lol), but I have seen a few or maybe two even though like all four big issue's Vogue, W magazine, Harpers Bazaar and Elle September issues are next to me I have yet to read them. I have just been way to busy now a days :(. I will say I did come across Instyle September issue and this spread " Can You Feel It " of Model turn Actress YaYa Dacosta Alafia ( 2nd runner up on Americas Next Top Model ) is by far one of the most perfect fall fashion editorial I have seen yet in magazines besides the really high fashion ones but this people can actually love and understand if your not that much of fashion person like myself. The editorial is just everything with YaYa wearing pieces from Alberta Ferretti, Fendi, Herve Ven Der, Dries Van Noten, Lousi Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and Valentino just to name a few featured designers. I just love a nice fall/winter editorial but I'll shut up and let you view the rest of the editorial.

Piece d'Anarchive

It's sportswear, street, chic and 90s all in one. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT Piece D'Anarchive Spring 2014 collection ( Sorry for that caps lock moment ). Just look at this collection everything screams 90s high-end street-chic and I love it. Sisters Deborah and Priscilla Royer inspiration for their spring presentation Paris Fashion week came from French Artist Jean Pierre Raynaud masterpiece  "La Maison."

1st day of Fall

Lately I have been really chilling it out, but I thought since It was the first day of Fall yesterday I thought I would throw on my Tiger print fur vest. You all will learn that I really love fur like really. (lol) I also pieced my fur with a long sleeve army fatigue jacket and black rude denim skinny jeans with all white Dr Martens which are my favorite boots. Honestly you will see me in boots all this season. I am so excited for this weather right now it started off a little cold but now it's just right, can't wait to actually pull out my coats and fur :).

Cate! Cate! Cate! Let's drop the Words " UP IN COMING " and replace it with " ICON ". Cate Underwood is definitely not new to the scene I actually feel she is like the new Kate Moss.( Yes I said Kate Moss). Starting out as an Fashion Editorial photographer from the Ukraine Cate has already shot for the likes of Vogue Italia, Elle and Harper Bazaar just to name a few.  I am in love with this girl she is clearly amazing from her photographer to her modeling. Cate was scouted at the age of 15 but turned it down as she said's in a interview with Schon magazine she is also Featured in just amazing.

Bears In The City

As you guys know summer has clearly ended in New York and winter is surely on it's way. Yesterday was actually a pretty good day for the weather and the outfit I choose. It was sunny but still a nice like breeze like a good ocean breeze love it.

Solange: " Lovers In Parking Lot "

LETS TALK ABOUT!! Saint Records recording artist Solange Knowles. Someone you should never sleep on that can definitely hold her own. With taking us halfway around the world with her last colorful but printful video " Losing You " (as I snap my fingers). Solange has released her newest video to her last year TRUE EP " Lovers In The Parking Lot " One of my favorite songs on the Dev Hynes produced EP. The artist went back to her roots with this one and took us to a Houston Flea Market and also bring out some familiar faces the former employee of the flea market rapper Bun B and also Mannie Fresh which she also added a few of his beats to the track. Photographer Eleet Frames

On my trip back to Atlanta this past month I was nothing but busy from getting things together for shoots in New York to even finding a photographer to shoot while I was in Atlanta and still busy the day of my shoot with Photographer Eleet Frames. I had an hour window open to do whatever so I called up Eleet and was on my way. The shoot starting off a little slow cause I had to get into it and clear my mind from thinking about everything going on for the next few weeks shoots, new features, fashion week omg!! It was going to be a crazy week ahead of me and plus I'm nobody's model. (lol) Nonetheless with a little music and a few of Eleet corny jokes (lol) I was ready to shoot. Fashion Shenzhen Spring 2014

( I don't know if you viewed my post on Concept Korea spring 14 nyfw http://askiaabdull.blogspot.com/2013/09/concept-korea-fashion-collections-ss14.html here it is again ). Fashion Shenzhen Made it's debut at New York Fashion Week this season, it's an multi-faceted event showcasing leading Chinese designers from Shenzhen, the third largest city in China, renowned for incubating Women Fashion Designers. Here's a little more info from the President of the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association  Madame Shen Yong Fang,
" We wanted to crate an platform that showcases the talent coming from our burgeoning region of Shenzhen, China. The opportunity to show during New York Fashion Week offers a unique international experience."   Kicking off the runway show was Guoxin Xia with The Ellassay Spring women's collection. The collection started off with tones of blacks and whites so simple but yet chic pattern's, and sheer dresses. With the first model wearing a black knee length blazer with a white collar and white cuff detail and a little leather clip with wrapping heeled sandals. The collection started to brake off into color some lights and some darks good spring I also see a few of these pieces coming into fall as well. My favorite piece was the Holographic strapless baby doll like dress and also the two tone sky blue and mint green dress as well. such an great simple collection still gives you prints but still clean looks.               It's no surprise to see that the Central Saint Martins graduate Designer Deng Hao won awards for her colorful cutting edge aesthetic of fanciful and imaginative knits, just look at this spring collection loved each and every piece that hit the runway from the short dresses to gowns and coats . It gave me such an South America feel or even South Asia from all the prints and colors. I loved that most of the collection had sheer pieces big fan of anything sheer. Just an amazing show.                 I think this is an amazing thing what the fashion industry is doing in these countries, love seeing new amazing talent can't wait to see what the bring next season definitely a fan..     What did you all think of Fashion Shenzhen Spring 2014 collection?  

The Big Apple

As you can tell it's starting to get cold. So clearly I have been layering it up for the past two days adding more and more clothing each day. "What I Wore" Today was a wool vintage belted brim hat from urban outfitters, a denim button down I picked up from one of my favorite thrift store in Atlanta park ave  thrift store as well as the oversized forest green cardigan and also my favorite biker jacket you will see a lot of. I also got my accessories from forever21 they are good on long father necklaces and crosses tones of boho jewelry you can find there, also wore mu rude denim jeans which I love to cuff at the bottom from hottopic and also more thrifty finds my wing tip Dr.martin from American Thrift Store love these.

          I have been having an amazing time in New York. I love it I have only been here for just about 4 or 5 months and I've done so much it's crazy. What a dream come true!!
