Daphne Guinness, what pops into the minds of most peoples head when her name is mentioned is of course Fashion Icon, heiress to the Guinness beer fortune, or best friend to the late GREAT Alexander McQueen! But what most don't know about Daphne is that she has an infinity of love for music and the arts. Daphne is not just your average heiress who collects beautiful garments to show off her wealth she is a woman who lives to inspire the masses and a woman who's fully in charge of her artistic power.

Ever the style chameleon and innovator it was only time before Daphne took a transition from playing muse to countless fashion designers and take her brand of eclectic artistry into the world of music. With the new video (which was shot by famed fashion photographer Nick Knight) and song called "Fatal Flaw" recently being released it had taken a few by surprise, but if you're an avid follower of the Guinness(as I am!) you'll know this isn't her first dabble into music. Performing a rendition of Jeffersons Airplane's "White Rabbit" with her band Element 4 at Arlene's Grocery on the Lower East Side in New York City last year she was in shining form!

Visually the video is amazing! But I wouldn't expect anything less from Nick Knight and a Daphne Guinness collab given their history of creating some very memorable collaborations in the past. The video features a lot of blurred, jagged/sharp images, and amazing warped lighting that Nick Knight says is based off the idea of the lyrics to the song. The video is somewhat dreamlike in a away when I see the juxtaposition from light to dark. This video also reminds me of my good friend and amazing filmmaker that I know named Derek Sturdivant(you can check out his videos here zuetfilms).

In an article with British Vogue she talks about the inspiration of the song “This song came from broken bonds, fragmented dreams. In part, it’s about the sheer randomness of love and its illusionary effect.”

Simply put this is exciting on all fronts for art, fashion, and music! Can't wait to see what Daphne has to offer up next visually and sonically. I'd love to see her collaborate with other music artist(Who would you guys like to see her work with in the future??!!!) and of course the making of a full album! But for now you can enjoy her new song and video below!
